It all started on a post-pandemic Black Friday shopping spree. A college freshman badly needed a wardrobe refresh, and if you want to fix your drip, you have to fix your kicks. There was only one pair that bakes in culture and hip into an A1 sneaker: YEEZY. And they were on sale.
If you thought a 45-minute commute to an outlet was commitment, try adding an hour and a half on top. You still have to park. Thousands of cars sit out in the open, in garages, underground. One spot opens and three cars snoop in. Before you know it you are stuck in a monotonous loop that eats your time, and your chances.
By end of day, the only pairs left were the 350 V2 Granites. Granite. Yuck. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn, and sometimes you solve. What if you could see occupancy and empty spots in real time before setting off? What if parking lots had profiles like social media and showed up on your Google Maps?
An idea was born, which we now know as the Arbiter model. After years of R&D, countless pivots, two more models, and hundreds of hours of customer discovery and incubation, VecSpace became a story of South Texan entrepreneurship and college innovation.
